December 2018: WATTS LOS ANGELES

December 1, 2018. "It might be sunny and warm here in Los Angeles, but Christmas is coming: trees are ready in most homes, some even draped in fake snow, and all are waiting for Santa Claus to come."

But in this poor area of Downtown Los Angeles, Christmas trees are scarce, gang violence (sometimes deadly) is on everyone’s mind, and Santa Claus doesn’t always find his way here...

Every year, Convoy Of Hope, one of Tierra's Angels’ partners, organizes a big day-long event for the families living in the area, distributing gifts, shoes, food, packed lunches, and providing free medical consultations, haircuts, family photo sessions…”

The Angels and their children were there, with more than 300 other volunteers, helping with logistics distributing gifts, meals, shoes, or helping spread awareness in the woman wellness tent. That day, a pre-arranged truce between the gang leaders is a day of celebration and peace. Among the many items distributed, 200 pairs of Tom's shoes, more than 6,000 hot dogs, and countless smiles were received in exchange.
