LOS ANGELES
Far too many high-risk youths experience daily challenges right at our doorstep. In Los Angeles, young children and teenagers face homelessness, gang violence, malnutrition, and sexual harassment.
18% of people in Los Angeles live in poverty. The city contains 170 high-poverty neighborhoods.
In 2018, Tierra’s Angels decided to join forces with Chapter Two, a non-profit organization located in South Los Angeles.
Chapter Two provides gang prevention and intervention services to youth and young adults between the ages of 14–25. Certified staff members work with them and engage in community group institutions and individuals to keep youth out of gangs.
Their key activities and current services include programs focusing on Child, Youth & Community Development as well as Family Support.
WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUTHS IN LOS ANGELES
Tierra’s Angels provides support in allocating funds to sponsor specific projects:
-
Back to School
-
Thanksgiving
-
Holiday Toy Drive
In addition to our financial contribution, a group of Angels volunteers their time to deliver the supplies, package, and distribute them to the residents. Our goal is to continue developing projects under the guidance and collaboration of Chapter Two members.
We want to establish a student/job counseling committee that supports s for their first job.
