Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and one of the poorest countries in the developing world. About 80 % of the rural Haitian population lives in poverty.
There, some people eat "mud cookies", made of dirt and water to temporarily trick their hunger.
In Haiti, an empty stomach means no school: how can one care to go to school when finding food is the main concern?
So, we thought: full stomach = full classroom.
With the help of great local partners, Convoy of Hope, we bring food to school so that the children receive both an education and a well-balanced meal every day.
By having the meals offered distributed by partner schools, Tierra’s Angels secures a better future for the children through education.
